SU ROTC renders testimonial review

DUMAGUETE CITY, Sept. 27 (PIA) The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) of Silliman University (SU) has rendered a testimonial review in honor of Major General Emmanuel Bautista, Commanding General of 3rd Infantry Division over the weekend at the Filomeno Cimafranca, Ballfield in Dumaguete City.
The corps of students paid tribute to Maj. Gen. Bautista in a testimonial parade as commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division whose area is under the province of Negros Oriental, said Maj. Conrado Evangelista, Information Officer of the army.
In his message to the ROTC, Maj. Gen. Baustista said that as part of the Combat Service Support Unit of the Philippine Army under the Army Reserve Command, the Army ROTC is a ready, capable, responsive, can be mobilize as reserve force which is an integral component of the army in defense of the state and as partner in socio-economic development efforts.
The activity is also highlighted by the annual presentation of sponsors and the giving honor to Jonathan Andrew Tan, one of the 2011 Outstanding Student of the Philippines.
Maj. Evangelista said the traditional military ceremony started with battalion-size troops formed along the spacious ballfield of which Rev Bernadette Amistoso Morales, Minister of the University led the invocation followed by the welcome remarks of Prof. Carlos Magtolis Jr, Dean of Student Affairs.
Afterwards, a pass in review and presentation of sponsors began with MGen Bautista trooped the line escorted by Ltc Nelson Trujillo, the commandant and C/Col Joecibel Occena the Corps Commander. (PIA NegOr/JCT)
