DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, June 25 (PIA) -- The governor of Negros Oriental has called on the new graduates of the Special Counter-Insurgency Operations Unit (SCOUT) here to take their responsibility in the province’s campaign against illegal drugs, illegal gambling and all forms of crime seriously.
Degamo assured the SCOUT graduates of the provincial government’s support, saying that the policemen are their partners in ensuring the peace and order in the province.
In his speech, the governor promised unrelenting support to the police force in the drive to stamp out illegal activities particularly involving gambling and illegal drugs.
The governor made the call during his speech in the recent graduation ceremony held at Brgy. Nagbagang, Sta. Catalina town of the 150 cops who completed the SCOUT training in the province, said Capitol Information Officer Adrian Sedillo.
Degamo also reiterated his support to “one-strike policy” enforced by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in pursuing police personnel found to have been directly or indirectly involved in illegal activities.
The provincial government earlier joined efforts with the local government unit of Sta. Catalina for the SCOUT training venue. (RMN/PIA Negros Oriental)
