Reg 7 nutrition info network to hold caravan in Negros Oriental

DUMAGUETE CITY, Oct 3 (PIA) -- Members of a media network in Region 7 will hold an information caravan in selected local government units in Negros Oriental on October 5 - 6. 

The aim is to provide regional media with a greater understanding of the nutrition and related programs, projects and activities undertaken by the government to improve the nutrition, health and well-being of the populace in the communities, said National Nutrition Council Region 7 (NNC-7) Nutrition Program coordinator Parolita Mission in a letter. 

Officers and members of the Media Information Network for Nutrition and Development (MIND-7) will visit Dumaguete City and the towns of Zamboanguita, Valencia, and Dauin during the caravan. 

"This is also part of our social marketing strategy, public information and for transparency," said Mission. 

According to NNC-7 Nutrition Officer 2 Dave Bargamento, MIND 7 members will visit the Nutriskwela Community radio station in Zamboanguita and Apo Island community in Dauin town as part of their caravan itinerary said 

The MIND-7 members will also hold a dialogue on October 5 with Gov. Roel Degamo, Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria and Zamboanguita Mayor Mark Kit Adanza to discuss the nutrition-related programs and strategies being implemented in their local government units. 

The dialogue will also be participated in by the local media and members of the Provincial Nutrition Committee here led by Assistant Provincial Health Officer and Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Edgardo Barredo. 

NNC-7 organized MIND 7 to increase the reach of proper nutrition information dissemination to the public. (RMN-PIA7, Negros Oriental)
