DOE approves farm-to-market road construction

DUMAGUETE CITY, May 12 (PIA)  The Department of Energy (DOE) has issued  notice to the local government of Valencia to proceed for the construction of farm to market roads in various barangays of the said town.

The road concreting projects which totaled to P5.7 million include the Malaunay-Dungga road; Apolong-Campisa Farm to market road, and BongBong-Mampas Farm to Market road.

Valencia Mayor Enrique Gonzalez said the issuance of notice to proceed will hasten the construction of the said projects which is hoped to benefit the farmers especially in the transport of their farm produce.

Energy Sec. Jose Rene Almendras, in his letter to Mayor Gonzalez, said the funding source for the concreting project will be from the Development and Livelihood Fund, a municipal share from the commercial operations of Palinpinon Geothermal Power Plant under Energy Regulations No. 1-94.  (PIA NegOr/JCT)
