Boxing association donates boxing gears to Dumaguete

DUMAGUETE CITY, Feb. 3 (PIA) --- The Dumaguete City government recently received boxing gears from the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP).
ABAP Executive Director Ed Picson turned over three pairs of boxing gloves, a headgear, corner post, mitts and other boxing gears in a turnover ceremony held during the finals of the 2012 PLDT-ABAP Boxing Championship at Robinson’s Place on Jan. 30, 2012.
Dumaguete City Sports Consultant Jose Guirit said the donation is a manifestation of ABAP’s support for the boxing industry in the city and Negros Oriental province.
Dumaguete City played host to the championship games of the Visayas leg of the boxing event from Jan. 4 to 30, 2012.
According to the Dumaguete City Information Office, winning boxers during the slugfest will represent the Visayas during the national finals in Tagbilaran, Bohol in March. (RMN/PIA Negros Oriental)
