NegOr experiences accidental power outage
By Jennifer C. Tilos

DUMAGUETE CITY, May 6 (PIA) -- Some areas under the coverage of Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative 11 (Noreco 2) experienced the unplanned power interruption on May 3 which lasted from 9:18 a.m. to 9:38 a.m; while electric consumers of Negros Oriental I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NORECO I) were also affected by the brownout from 9:18 a.m. to 11:11 a.m.

Reports indicated that the said outage was due to a coconut branch that was blown over the conductors at Tomogong, Bais City.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) restored power transmission services in parts of Negros Oriental on May 4 after re-energizing the Amlan-Bindoy-Guihulngan 69kV transmission line.

Power transmission service was restored after an outage hit portions of the province at 5:33 p.m. due to the tripping of the Amlan-Bindoy-Guihulngan 69kV transmission line.

NGCP continues to strengthen the transmission network with its regular maintenance activities done in close coordination with NORECO I and NORECO II.

Both utilities are working together to improve services to power consumers in Negros Oriental, said Elmer Cruz of NGCP. (mbcn/JCT/PIA 7, Negros Oriental)
