DUMAGUETE CITY, Dec 14 (PIA) -- The Aboitiz Group, led by the Aboitiz Foundation, is now accepting donations for typhoon victims, particularly in devastated Mindanao, most badly hit by typhoon Pablo.
Thousands of families in several areas of Mindanao including New Bataan, Compostela Valley, Bukidnon, Iligan and Davao, as well as in Negros Oriental and Dumaguete City in the Visayas, are still in need of help, according to Aboitiz Branding and Communication Specialist Yhol Colegado.
For the donations raised, the Aboitiz Group will prepare a mix of ready-to-eat canned goods, water, bread and biscuits, personal effects like towels, blankets, and underwear, as well cooking ware.
Recently, the Aboitiz Group has given over P5.5 million worth of financial assistance to an estimated 10,000 families in Compostela Valley (ComVal), Davao Oriental, Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro and the cities of Dumaguete and Tanjay in Negros Oriental.
However, Colegado said more than half of the funds have been channeled for relief operations in ComVal, which experienced the most devastation.
Colegado said those who want to give cash donations may do their deposits at the Aboitiz Foundation's bank accounts: Union Bank of the Philippines: 10026-1070944 and City Savings Bank: 200-200331301.
The Aboitiz also encourages the donors to contact the following personnel for more information on how to help for donation: Rowena Astillo of Aboitiz Foundation - 09176304484; Compostela Valley Relief Operations: Danny Cerence - 09176308172 or Marissa Capomanes - 09177250992.
