DUMAGUETE CITY, Feb 1 (PIA) -- The business one-stop shop (BOSS) of Dumaguete City has been extended until February 15 to accommodate more business permit renewals.

Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria said the extension of BOSS gives enough time to accommodate business companies who failed to renew their business permit as many business owners, especially those who are personally processing the documents, have not much time to register.

The mayor said he requested the Sannguniang Panlungsod to approve an extension until February 15 so business establishments can avoid accumulation of penalty fees. BOSS operations was scheduled to close on January 30.

The BOSS which started on January 2, provide a speedy and more convenient business licensing application process.

The processing center located at the second floor of City Hall, puts in one place all requirements needed by business owners for registration such as barangay clearance, sanitary permits, and Bureau of Fire permit, among others.

Participating agencies in the one-stop shop include PhilHealth, Social Security System, Bureau of Internal Revenue with local offices such as City Health, fire department, among others for the validation and issuance of clearances.

The BOSS program is aimed at reducing red tape and collecting taxes efficiently. It was created to encourage entrepreneurs to register their businesses. (FCR/JCT/PIA-Negros Oriental)
