DOLE7 briefs businesses on labor standards in Dumaguete City


DUMAGUETE CITY, July 29 (PIA)--The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-7) has briefed some 65 business store owners in the public market of Dumaguete City under its expanded technical advisory visit (TAV) at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the market in the city. 

The agency kicked off a series of TAV orientation in Dumaguete City for owners and workers in public market stores to monitor and document the improvement of businesses in the area as well as their compliance with the general labor standards, said Emmanuel Ferrer, DOLE-7 information officer.

In his message during the opening ceremony, City Administrator William Ablong lauded the activity of DOLE in helping the businessmen in the city to be observant and compliant with the law as they geared in to be successful in their respective businesses.

Aside from the orientation from DOLE, participants were able to grasp the updated information pertaining to programs, projects and services of Social Security System (SSS) with branch head Lelanie Benedian and Employees Compensation Commission (ECC) for Visayas Region with Engrid Zafra.

The DOLE schedule another orientation on July 30 and 31 in the city with around 100 participants expected to attend coming from the meat and fish vendors group. (mbcn/JCT/PIA7-Negros Oriental)
