DUMAGUETE CITY, Feb 28
(PIA) -- More than 50 tourism stakeholders in Negros Oriental participated in
the tourism value chain forum and workshop recently held in Dumaguete City.
In order to develop the local tourism industry in Negros Oriental become more
competitive and dynamic, a two-day activity organized by the Department of
Trade and Industry (DTI) in partnership with the German International
Cooperation (GIZ) and local tourism units in the province was organized.
The activity also aimed to map a tourism value chain where all tourism products
and services are linked to further promote the province as a tourist
destination.
Department of Tourism (DOT) 7 Regional Director Rowena Montecillo briefly
presented the Central Visayas (CV) tourism situationer and the National Tourism
Development Plan to situate the tourism stakeholder-participants with the
purpose of developing a local tourism industry road map of Negros Oriental. (FCR/JCT/PIA-Negros Oriental)
